Why is my BMW 3 Series making a knocking noise?

I've noticed that my BMW 3 Series is making a knocking noise while driving. It seems to be coming from the front of the car. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

A potential cause for the knocking noise could be worn out suspension components or CV joints. It is important to get this checked out and repaired as soon as possible to avoid further damage to your car and ensure your safety while driving.

Another possibility is that the knocking noise is coming from the engine. This could be due to low oil levels or worn out engine bearings. I would recommend getting a mechanic to take a look and perform any necessary repairs.

It is also possible that the knocking noise is caused by loose or damaged heat shields. These shields protect the exhaust system and can become loose over time. I would suggest having a technician inspect and potentially replace any damaged heat shields.
