Why is my BMW i3 battery draining so quickly?

I recently purchased a BMW i3 and noticed that the battery seems to be draining much faster than advertised. I only get about 100 miles on a full charge, but the website claims up to 153 miles. Is there something wrong with my car or is this normal? I'm worried about being stranded without a charge.
