Why is my BMW X1's engine making a rattling noise?

I recently started noticing a rattling noise coming from the engine of my BMW X1. It seems to get louder when I accelerate. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

This could be caused by a variety of issues such as a loose or damaged part in the engine, worn out motor mounts, or a problem with the exhaust system. It's recommended to take your car to a certified mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.

I also experienced a rattling noise in my BMW X1 and it turned out to be a faulty belt tensioner. It's a relatively easy and inexpensive fix, so definitely have it checked out.
