Why is my BMW X3 making a clicking noise when I turn the steering wheel?

I recently noticed that every time I turn the steering wheel on my BMW X3, it makes a clicking noise. Is this something I should be concerned about or is it normal?

It is possible that the clicking noise is coming from the steering wheel column or the power steering system. It is important to have a mechanic check it out to determine the root cause and address any potential issues.

N

Some BMW X3 models have known issues with the steering wheel making clicking noises. It could be a result of a faulty steering wheel lock mechanism that needs to be replaced.

C

If the clicking noise only occurs when you turn to a specific side, it could be a problem with the CV joints. These should be inspected and replaced if necessary.
