Why is the engine light on in my BMW M6?

I recently purchased a used BMW M6 and noticed that the engine light is illuminated. Is this a serious issue? What could be causing it and how can I fix it?

The engine light is an indicator that there is a problem within the engine system. It could be a minor issue or a more serious one, so it's important to get it checked as soon as possible.

Common causes of the engine light coming on in a BMW M6 include a faulty oxygen sensor, a loose gas cap, or a problem with the catalytic converter. I recommend taking it to a certified BMW mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

It's always best to err on the side of caution and get the engine light checked immediately. Ignoring it could lead to more severe and expensive problems in the future.
