How does the launch control feature work on the BMW M6?

I've heard about the launch control feature on the BMW M6 but I'm not sure how to use it. Can someone explain the steps?

The launch control feature on the BMW M6 allows you to achieve optimal acceleration from a standstill. To activate it, make sure you are in Sport+ mode, hold the brake pedal down firmly, and press down on the gas pedal. Once the rev counter reaches the optimal launch RPM, release the brake and feel the car launch forward.

I always found it easier to use the launch control feature with two feet. Keep your left foot on the brake while pressing down on the gas pedal with your right foot until the launch RPM is reached.
