Why is my BMW 2 Series's engine making a rattling noise?

I recently noticed that my BMW 2 Series's engine has been making a strange rattling noise. It seems to be coming from the front of the car and only happens when the engine is running. Any ideas what could be causing this and what I should do about it?

The rattling noise could be caused by a loose or worn out serpentine belt. It's important to have this checked and replaced if necessary, as the belt is responsible for powering various components of your engine.

Another possible cause could be low oil levels or dirty oil. Make sure to check your oil level and schedule a maintenance appointment to have your oil changed if needed. Dirty oil can cause increased friction and lead to engine noise.
